Ok, all this is the reason we formed a clan. Anyone wanting to participate in the 5s rep of WD for season 2 please post here. 2 prime team members will be judging all applicants. (Even I might not make it in!)
Zuab and Gameaholic2k are our Team captains. They, along with Redleader (Ramvo), MW, and possibly myself will choose members to join in the tryouts.
The 2 teams will have separate days for queuing to maximize availability. Right now, thoughts on those days are open for discussion, but at the moment Saturday and Sunday seem fine. I am leaning towards a 2 consecutive game min/max per week meaning only 2 hours of your time should be all you need to give. Once again this is open for debate. Also, it should be noted that each team captain is responsible to team comp planning, and any strategy sessions they wish to hold.
At this moment, the method of tryouts have not been decided, but please keep referring back to this thread for more information.
Also, persons associated with the clan but unwilling to participate in forum activities ARE WELCOME TO TRY OUT. However, if you are accepted you MUST REGISTER ON THE FORUMS. For the sake of authenticity of our clan, people representing us, must have some proof of membership; registration is all that's needed.
TRYOUTS:
Saturday @ 3pm-6pm PST or GMT-8
Sunday @ 3pm-6pm PST or GMT-8
We will be holding tryouts. Everyone NEEDS TO RSVP, or at least sign up here. If we can cut things early, WE WILL. So anyone who last minute decides to tryout, might miss out.
The tryouts will be 30-35min games of 3v3 on summoner's rift. Me, MW, and Ramvo will each be in game as observers or acting as team players (so may be a 4v4, but one will always observer). We will judge on 3 points:
Early game: Looking to see how you lane/jungle/roam. Play your best, but relax and have fun. Mistakes are mistakes, but how you handle yourself during or after is the most important part.
Teamwork/listening: Working with your team is what the game is all about. Using your own judgment to follow or avoid directions from anyone.
Build: I love theorycrafting, and most of us can respect it. But don't bring your troll build. Be adaptive, anticipate, synergize, and work with your team.
30mins won't give us everything, but after game we'll discuss possible variation on what you would do in different out comes. We want to see everyone in action, but we want to make sure you have a good head on your shoulders. It's easy to redeem lots of points, and even sway one of us simply by admitting a mistake and giving a realistic option you could have explored.
I myself have decided to open 16 spots. That's 8 spots for each team, sans the captain. The captain if they want, may choose a Co-captain who can stand in for them in case they are unable or unwilling to play at times. our 4 first picks are players expected to leave at least 3 hours a week open for weekend games, or give at least reasonable notice to their back ups. 2nd string picks will be back ups who should expect to play at least Bi-weekly.
Tell your friends, invite your buddies and have fun. We want to make a name for ourselves and maybe go to tourneys, but at the heart of it all we're just having fun over summer.
Please also note that there may be those of you unwilling to join teams with other people. At this point, we don't have enough active membership participation to enforce a code of conduct, but if you can at least follow the summoners code (I know it's cheesy, but honestly, people who do follow it are easier to play with, and generally everyone has more fun) it should be fine.
Lastly, although we want to climb the ladder, our primary goal is to HAVE FUN. The spirit of competition is great, but winning is icing on the cake. I encourage everyone to try their best, but if you must choose between LoL as a job and LoL as recreation; choose the latter.
remember, feeders gonna feed, and haters gonna hate. We are WD!
